Every parent wants their child to learn the importance of taking turns, right?
So we should be absolutely thrilled that SB has picked up on it.
The only problem is that she doesn’t extend that to her being fair. Oh no – she just has a very strong sense of right and wrong when it comes to mummy and daddy.
She clearly sees that, because I work during the week, Daf gets “his turn” whenever the two of them are together. So on my day off today, when we went shopping, it was “mummy’s turn”. For everything.
Can daddy push your trike, sweetheart? NO. Mummy’s turn.
Can daddy chop up your food, princess? NO, it’s Mummy’s turn now.
Can daddy carry you because mommy’s back is hurting, pudding? NO. Naughty daddy, it is Mummy’s turn now! Mummy’s turn!
I’m utterly amazed at the sentences she’s coming out with. I’m also slightly concerned at the extent she’s already answering back. Not to mention that my heart is getting melted by the fact that she wants me to do things with her – and looking forwards to Sunday, when it will be “Mummy’s Turn” again.
You win this time, tiny human.
Aww I can’t wait until my little boy does this, and then I can imagine it quickly gets old! Especially early mornings, ‘mummy it’s your turn to get me up’ #stayclassy

We have this with Mini R, he’s two next month and everything is “Mummys turn” or “Mini R turn”. Most commonly, when doing his teeth, he desperately wants to do them, but I like to do them first then he can finish the job. He spends the entire time saying it’s his turn with toothpaste falling out of his mouth and me struggling to brush! #KCACOLS

Such a sweet little princess who knows what she wants! I think it’s wonderful that she is learning control over her preferences and decisions. Sounds like her decisions aren’t the only thing she’s controlling (; It’s okay, my kiddo has me in the palm of his hand! ❤ #KCACOLS

That’s so funny!! Ours doesn’t do this (yet!) but is as equally as strong-willed… For the last week his new favourite word is ‘no’ or ‘no, thank you’!! #KCACOLS

Ohhhh this is so adorable, I love that she is claiming “your turn”. This is so adorable, my daughter doesn’t favor one parent over the other too often, and it changes (daily I swear) I love that your lil one is doing this!! #KCACOLS

Kids don’t seem to think being fair should involve them at all sometimes. #kcacols

Oh that’s sweet – how lovely that she’s picked up on the concept of when you both have to take turns! Yep can relate to the fairness as long as it doesn’t involve them – my son is the master of giving toys he doesn’t want to play with to other children…the other children that actually want to play with the toy he’s got! #KCACOLS
