Oops

On Thursday I started my new job… and life has gone completely out of the window since then.

It’s a temporary job, but I really am enjoying it – it involves waking up at half 4 to be there for 6am, but I finish at 2pm and get the whole afternoon and evening with SB and Daf, which is great! It’s very physical and active and involves a lot of talking to people too, so it’s perfect and absolves me of any guilt for the junk food I’m demolishing.

Well, I say “demolishing” – my appetite has gone walkabouts again and the pain is flaring up. The GP has called me in for an appointment next week – not sure what for, but we’ve noticed a pattern with the pain at last. It seems to follow my cycles – so it’s possible that the A&E doctors were right, and this has been an issue like endometriosis rather than my appendix all along. Whatever it is, I am SO ready to be rid of it now.

Daf’s gone out for the evening and, for my shame, I ordered in nothing short of a feast from Domino’s other pizzerias are available.  Disappointed with their brownies (stick to the cookies) but the rest of it is pretty fab.

December didn’t get off to the best start, to say the least. On December 1st, we were feeling in the Christmas spirit, getting ready to put the tree up – and then we found out that Annie, our dwarf hamster who we adopted a few months ago, had died. I was heartbroken – we expected it really, as she was old and blind and she’d slowed down a lot in the last few days, but the day before we found out she’d died, I fed her and she came out quite happily to eat it and let me stroke her. I spent most of December 1st sobbing my heart out as we took her to the vets to be cremated – I love all of our hamsters, and I am glad we gave Annie a nice end to her life but it’s so sad. Tiny is now over two years old, and I know we don’t have long left with him/her, and I don’t even know what I will do when we lose him/her – it just doesn’t bear thinking about.

Anyway, that’s just my stream of consciousness as to why blog posts and Twitter activity has trailed off in the last few days. It’s good stuff – earning money and enjoying work – but there’s a lot to do to get the book ready to be released at some point in January, which is still my aim!
